When selling or letting a property it’s extremely important to get things right…
As you can imagine, over the last two decades we at Jeffrey Nicholas have become acutely aware of what works and what doesn’t.
To give the right impression, your rooms should be as light and airy as possible or warm and cosy. If you can enhance the room with certain tones of lighting or the placement of flowers, books or cushions – this will also help. We have always been great believers of aroma – freshly brewed coffee or newly baked bread will add a homely appeal and that ‘lived-in’ feeling that so often works. If you have an open fire it would be recommended to utilise it when selling or letting your home in winter.
When it comes to outside space it is vital that the entrance is clean, clear of leaves and well swept. The front door should also be cleaned along with the windows to your property. If you have a terrace, garden or even a window box – make sure these are well tended with seasonal plants and appropriate dressing. The lawn should be cut, raked with the borders neatly trimmed and edged.
All this appears to be common sense, but you would be surprised how many people marketing their property fail to take these simple points on board.
This can be an awkward time showing people your home, however, in the unlikely event that one of our staff are unable to escort a prospective buyer or tenant around your property, one needs to be welcoming but not overly enthusiastic.
Once you have instructed Jeffrey Nicholas to sell or let your property you will be able to take advantage of our free in-house Home Doctor – all part of our enviable service!
We look forward to hearing from you.
